Brakes: coding with AI agents · Intro
This video was made by an AI that grades its own work
An AI made this video, then graded it: five out of ten. It works from one file of rules (pure function of time, no randomness, every beat opens a loop), renders one frame per beat, scores seven things, fixes the three worst and renders again. Round one, the text is mush at phone size; then bigger type, then the hook moved, and the scores climb to 8. That loop is the same set of brakes as coding: a rules file, a test, CI, a review.
Comment below: Would you let an agent grade its own work?
Brakes: a series on the checks that let an AI coding agent go fast without shipping bugs. Every best practice shortens the time between writing a bug and finding it. Brakes are why race cars go fast. All code is real TypeScript on Node 24, typechecked and tested before it went on screen.
